Opened an email account; sent a message asking if they could check into why/when I did not recieve emails. The next time I tried to access email; message came up that email was in accessable. how come people not all. in canada sends us this spam. is there no laws to stop them? i get anything from drugs watches and porn. i say about 95% of spam i get comes from canada. i would never waste my time on clicking on none of it.

Just recently I read in the paper about an Aussie farmer who had flown to Africa to meet a woman (Good Looker). She was going to marry him and go back to Aussie with him and her money. You get other peoples' email addresses in many different ways. Sometimes you meet them in chat rooms, on IM programs, and I'm sure some people make friends here on Yahoo! Answers. If they allow contact (check their profiles), you can contact them that way and ask if they'd mind keeping in touch and ask for their e-mail address. Yahoo! Answers doesn't give you the address... your note to them goes through Y!A, so that email addresses are kept private. Also there are ways to have people contact you on 360, MySpace, etc., and in Yahoo! Groups. You have to ask people as you meet them in any of these different ways.

I have a business email account that is different from my yahoo email account. I take a lot of business trips out of town. Can I access that business email account with my laptop using yahoo at the same time my secretary is accessing it at work on the office PC or will this cause her a problem there as soon as I get into the mailbox?

If you were to contact them, at some point, they would claim that they need some money, for transfer fees, bribes, whatever... always telling you, of course, that once they get those millions transferred, you'll get some unbelievably large percentage of their bounty as a reward for all your help.
There are many versions of this scam today, but at least one of the really early versions had some guy, typing in all capitals, claiming to be Nigerian. Anywhere, here's a detailed link to it from Snopes (Urban Legend debunking site):

Why is it that I am unable to receive email from certain people when I can receive from others?

Reply:Yahoo is still having some problems at the moment. Suggested cures range from Update Adobe Flash Player and Javascript to clear IE7 cache, cookies, and browsing history. Different things seem to work for different people. It's causing attachments to not show, 999 errors where it won't let you do a particular action and some people cannot send recieve delete or move mail. It's not just Vista either it's happening to some of us on XP. I have been advised to use this site to view my mail, www.mail2web.com if all else fails go back to classic mail via this link. http://us.mg1.mail.yahoo.com/dc/optout?s... click yes when asked do you want to opt out. Ends up MY ISP took them as a spammer and blocked all emails that came from that domain (bookcrossing.com). I've had to redirect that account to an alternate address.

If you have them all in your address book, you can send it to them all by forwarding or composing your letter 1st, then click "To:" at the top of the letter (above the "Subject:" line). I am only sending them out to family (we aren't that close anyway.. they live an hour away and I dont' fit in with them anyway). And 1 friend from out of town. So I was going to email soem pictures and make a really cute backgroudn and border. That way everyone can have their own pictures of the baby. They will all come and see him anyway within a few days and I will call some of the family and my friends on the phone anyway. The more distant family (aunts and grandparents) will find out from my parents immediately anyway. The email announcement is more me sharing my excitement and showing off pictures.. and so my grandparents and aunts can hear from me in person (I am not calling the whole family one by one when they dont' hardly talk to me anyway).

I have never bought anything from a spam email and I never will. The people who send them out waste peoples time and money. I don't understand why it shouldn't at least be regulated. Your time zone might be incorrect. I'm not sure what email you use, but you can usually fix this by going to the settings.

There isnt any software capable of that. It would have to be done via scripting within the message header and that would be dependent on the mail system. Unless everyone used the same mail backend, and they don't, it isn't possible.

How many people can I email at once?
I run a residents' association with over 250 members: can I send an email to them all using basic Yahoo Mail (ie not the paid-for version) or will I have to send it as multiple messages to smaller groups of members?

CREATE A CATEGORY:

I have checked the headers from both emails but can't make sense out of it. One is being sent to hotmail from a hotmail address and the other is from a Yahoo address being sent to hotmail.Any body that can help with this I will be very thankful

How do these people get your email address?
I'm sure all of us have recieved emails from other countries (such as: The UK,Nigeria,and England) telling us we've won something,or they need our help in obtaining "Funds/Money from some dead relative. Although "Spam Protection" is suppose to prevent these emails from entering into our "InBox", we get them anyway!. These people actually know when you've "Logged-In",because I can be checking my emails,and get an "alert",that I've recieved another one. I look and "IT'S THEM!"

How do these people get your email address?
As it's been explained to me, by my ISP/email "carrier" when I've questioned them on how to stop all these spam/spoof emails -- "your email address is out there", some sites will sell your email addresses, just like those companies who sell your home address for mailing lists!! Plus, a lot of spammers are good and can acquire your email from just about anything you've sent or any site you've visited!!! Oh, yes, I was also told "there's nothing that can be done about it"!!!
Nigeria seems to be the best at getting your email addy!! ESPECIALLY if you have an account on eBay!!!
Forget about trying to block them -- they just keep changing THEIR email addy and keep sending all those spam/spoof emails!!!

Reply:One day I answer one of such email. Actually they sent me something to fill in and send by post. After 1 month my letter came back to me saying that such address does not exist. So anyway, there is nobody waiting for my data. It really makes no sense to me. Even now I received 2 such emails. Report Abuse
Reply:you must be going someone on your computer that leaves a trail. I never have this problem. My spam is separated in my email account the blocker never lets it through unless I fill something out and then they have your address. Yahoomail is great.
