I like how yahoo messenger beeps really loud when I get new emails, but I really only want it to do this when I receive emails from certain people (so I won't be woken up by spam!)
Are there any plug-ins for messenger that would provide this functionality? Or perhaps there are some freeware (or pay) programs that are known to do this. Many thanks for any help!

The only way i know to receive email from certain people is if you have yahoo mail on your mobile phone. I use to have this old option on my old phone, but basically you go to your yahoo mail, click options, and select filters. You can add people to your filter, which will notify by txt msg who sent the email, and will let you read it. Note: you do have to activate yahoo mail on your mobile phone for the option to work by clicking on: http://mobile.yahoo.com/mail.
