How secure is yahoo email from people hacking it ?

really want to know like can i store bank stuff on there? is it ok to link with paypal? In other words if you really need to get to someones email, could you??

Reply:The chances of Yahoo!'s servers being compromised are very very low. The only security risks related to a Yahoo! email account would be if you had a password which was simple enough to guess or people could work out easily from seeing you type it, and setting your security questions to obvious things that not just you know.





Secure passwords would use a combination of letters and numbers, with the letters possibly a mix of upper and lower case. Make it something you'll remember but isn't guessable. The name of your favourite music group, girlfriend/boyfriend and pets are not secure passwords.





My preference lies with Gmail - their spam filtering is superb, reducing the chances you'll be presented with fraudulent scam emails, unless you start exploring the contents of your Spam box.

Think of it like this, There are billions of people who access the internet daily, in between 4-8% of the people who access the internet are considered "hackers" (or "crackers" is the correct term). So, what would make a cracker want to attack someone? Any malicious cracker will not waste their time with your account. The odds of your account being hacked are less than 1 of 1,000,000,000.





Now of course, large corporations, banks, political leaders, or the extremely rich are the ones that crackers target.

Here in the Philippines, there are people who teach internet hacking for a living and Yahoo is the easiest one to hack into.


It is also the first lesson taught to new, would be hackers.


Use a paid e-mail account if you really want security.

if you do not do any mistake or foolish thing than the chance is very very very less.........





but in case if someone releases any kind of virus or anything which can take your account details while you signed in then it might be hacked........





so use a good anti virus.... n chances are very less

I prefer Gmail, though, it gives more storage and has a no-frills interface.
