How can you send a email to many people but only one name is shown as recipient?

I received an emailed invite. I know it was sent to over 100 people, yet only my name was in the "to" section. How was this sent? I need to email invitations to a party next week, and liked how personal it seemed to only have my name and wondered how to do this myself. Can anyone help? Thanks

in the to line put one of your own addresses then click on bcc to open up an other line. This is Blind copies. Put all the rest in bcc. Only your name and each of the others will only show your name and their own name
Reply:put yourself as recipient (to) and all others in blind copy (bcc)

Reply:Copy the body of the message, and send it to each person that you want it sent to. It's a slower process than sending one message to 100 different contacts in the "to" section, but it just might be what you are looking for.
Reply:Grimm is correct. Use the BCC feature available in any email program.
Reply:i believe if you put everyones email address in the Blind Carbon Copy field (BCC) it will do this.
