some foreign exchange students came to my school, they already left but i got some email addresses, but there to their phones called docomos, do they take messages from a hotmail or gmail acount? if so.....how do you do it?
How do you email people in japan?
There is no any special steps you have to go through. Just type is the phone's address like you do when you send emails to a computer's account.
Certain phone's email address such as the one with a period before at sign (kamen.rider.@docomo.co.jp) and the one that has many periods after another (kamen.....rider@docomo.co.jp) wouldn't work. But there's nothing you can do about it.
Reply:Yes, they're just normal email addresses. But...
The one problem you may find is that your message gets bounced. This happens because of spam prevention, where a docomo user has to allow email from some domains like hotmail or gmail, by adding them specifically.
If your mail gets bounced, try from a different account. You may need to open an account from a Japanese service like yahoo.co.jp or another free email service.
If you have their phone number, you can call them using Skype for about 1垄 per minute.
Reply:In some cases, Japanese cell phones would receive messages ONLY from Japanese cell phones (Docomo, AU, Softbank).
But since you are in US, you don't have Japanese cell phone. So you can't send messages in that case.
