Healthboards is a part of WebMD and has strict moderators and solid rules. You might find this a good way to converse with others and even help someone else who is suffering as well.

To sign up for aim (aol instant messenger) go to the aol home page (aol.com) and find the aim on the task bar, on the right and sign up. If you know 100's of people that don't have anything to do all day except send out emails, then I guess it would work. Give your email address to as many people as possible and see what happens. You can put your email address on the internet sites and then you will get tons of Spam, junk mail.

I can receive emails. For some reason as of the last two weeks I haven't been able to send anything!

check your account settings, assuming you are using outlook, go to tools, accounts and in there you will find your account name. check to make sure you have a defined mail server in your outgoing server box

eg

mail.hotmail.com or similar

failing this, call your ISP support number who can walk you thru your settings

Because unfortunately that's what happens when people "forward" emails. All existing email addresses in that piece of mail get forwarded as well.

People don't realize that it's polite to delete all the old stuff from an email before Fwd'ing. And it also depends on what email they use. For example, ATT Yahoo is lousy about this, when you hit Fwd it says "Forwarding message attached," and you can't get to the old email addresses to delete them. If this happens, copy and paste the body of the original email and "compose" a new message.

I believe the world wouldn't be spammed as much if people used Bcc.

I just recieved a disturbing email and it was really mean. This is what it said:

Message: I CAN SAY WHATEVER I WANT.IF YOU DONT KIE IT.THEN YUO CAN GO TO HELL.SORRY 14 YEAR OLD *****.

I don't even know what he is talking about and this is so mean. I couldn't find any place on the email to report him but I really want to because he might be sending others the same kind of mean emails and i dont want that 2 happen.

Reply:First try going to "view contact details". If the parents of that rude child have entered their address or phone number, write or call them and tell them what their kid is doing on their computer. If they have not filled in these details, then go to "reply" and e-mail the parents. Be SURE to change the subject line to read something like "personal message" or anything else you can think of that will not arouse the curiosity of the kid, should he access to their mail.

There is no any special steps you have to go through. Just type is the phone's address like you do when you send emails to a computer's account.

Certain phone's email address such as the one with a period before at sign (kamen.rider.@docomo.co.jp) and the one that has many periods after another (kamen.....rider@docomo.co.jp) wouldn't work. But there's nothing you can do about it.

I never visit porn sites, or pharmaceutical drug store online.... I never gave my email address out, or bought anything online, or registered with any website. yet I get tons of email spam from them. How did they get my email?? How do I stop it?? I hate abandoning my email address, but this is becoming absurd..

How does these spam people get my email address?
They got professionals. There are many methods.

(1)

For example you are logged on to yahoo and visiting other websites with the same browser. Yahoo sends a small data to check if this other sites is one of theirs so that you dont have to log in again. These people can that small data and cache it ( they were suppose to drop it). later These Professionalz crack and gets your ID by tracing where this came from.

(2)

Brute Ping method. You can check if an email address is available or not with a simple hand built VB program or you can get these type of programs off the net all the time. If its occupied then your ID is added to their mailing list.

(3)

The chain reaction method.

Messenger HCK. This is heavy. Hack in some ones ID using the messenger then get all the email addresses of all the added messenger friends. Use them to get to more e-mail IDs. And so the chain reaction goes on.

There are many more methods.

Im not shure if it has anything to do with your plan, but this is what I do.

First go to send message then when you type in the number, there should be several more boxes under that, push down then enter and type in the nex number for each contact.

In Outlook, open a new (email message). Select the "To" button (this is to the left of the address line). This should take you to the "Select Names: Contacts" window. Highlight the name(s) you want and press the field at the bottom (To -%26gt;, Cc -%26gt;, or Bcc- %26gt;) this will add the contact to the list of recipients. When you have added everyone, click OK at the bottom.

If you send to the same group a lot, you should create a Group, then when you want to email them, just click the Group name. It will add everyone in that group to the email.

youtube have an emailing limit in a short space of time to try to prevent spammers etc from sending thousands of unsolicited emails through youtube Mail service.

please wait means: wait a while before trying to email people again.

it depends if the email went through,but if you already sent it 4 or 5 times then there is no point trying to send it again.

how come people not all. in canada sends us this spam. is there no laws to stop them? i get anything from drugs watches and porn. i say about 95% of spam i get comes from canada. i would never waste my time on clicking on none of it.

Actually Canada is the only G7 country not to have spam laws, it has become an issue for many in that it is hard to get people who have servers there punished. The recent Facebook lawsuit that they won is actually against some Canadian based websites and it is going to be fun for them to get it enforced.

The rest of the G7 countries are going to have to start putting pressure on Canada as they are being forced to try and apply laws across the borders.

Otherwise spam filter companies are going to have to start to use the fact that the email comes from Canada as one of the rules they use to stop email.
Reply:Most of spam email are scams, one way or another they just want your money. The best thing for u to do is just ignore all of those emails and never reply or else you will get your inbox flooded with even more junk. About laws I am not sure I'm guessing there are some but I am not positive.

There's no way to stop it----not if you want to send any mail.

This is a security measure by Yahoo to ensure that a spam bot isn't using your account to send out spam.

Some are hoping that it will slack off after a while (don't hold your breath)----and Yahoo isn't saying, one way or the other.

You know and I know mate but there is always some poor mug out there who is that excited at getting his/her hands on millions that they switch off their brain. Just recently I read in the paper about an Aussie farmer who had flown to Africa to meet a woman (Good Looker). She was going to marry him and go back to Aussie with him and her money. He arrived was kidnapped and robbed. The worst part was it's the second scam he has fallen for. Good luck and stay safe.

Reply:Because they are a scam and once someone starts others get in or they have some type of equipment that sends out mass emails and makes it look like they are from more than one source and in actuality they aren't - don't fall for it - too me if it sounds to good to be true - it usually is! You get other peoples' email addresses in many different ways. Sometimes you meet them in chat rooms, on IM programs, and I'm sure some people make friends here on Yahoo! Answers. If they allow contact (check their profiles), you can contact them that way and ask if they'd mind keeping in touch and ask for their e-mail address. Yahoo! Answers doesn't give you the address... your note to them goes through Y!A, so that email addresses are kept private. Also there are ways to have people contact you on 360, MySpace, etc., and in Yahoo! Groups. You have to ask people as you meet them in any of these different ways.

I have a business email account that is different from my yahoo email account. I take a lot of business trips out of town. Can I access that business email account with my laptop using yahoo at the same time my secretary is accessing it at work on the office PC or will this cause her a problem there as soon as I get into the mailbox?

It's a con job, plain and simple. If you were to contact them, at some point, they would claim that they need some money, for transfer fees, bribes, whatever... always telling you, of course, that once they get those millions transferred, you'll get some unbelievably large percentage of their bounty as a reward for all your help.

There are many versions of this scam today, but at least one of the really early versions had some guy, typing in all capitals, claiming to be Nigerian. Anywhere, here's a detailed link to it from Snopes (Urban Legend debunking site):

Like all con jobs, it only works once they can persuade you and your money to go in separate directions. This works often enough for this to be a real problem -- the Secret Service estimates these scams netted $100 million in just over a year (back in 1997).

These are all variations of a classic con known as "The Spanish Prisoner".. in that con, you'd be hit up for money to rescue some member of a wealthy family, who would obviously shower you with riches once out of prison.

Turn on Yahoo's junk mail filter in the options and also set a rule to have non-address e-mails, where the from address does not contain an @ symbol, to be deleted. Ask Yahoo Help (top right of screen) if you need help doing that.

Reply:One way to make a start, if using e-mail software such as "Outlook Express" or whatever, they usually have a feature that allows you to set up "keywords" / e-mail addresses you consider spam (e.g. ones that appear regularly) to be filtered into the TRASH folder.

Another, is to use a Spam filter....... there's one built into ZONEALARM INTERNET SECURITY SUITE (alongside Firewall, Anti-virus %26amp; Anti-Spyware utilities)... or there's other sources for this type of software too.

All you do is copy the message header %26amp; body into their online form, hit the submit button.... their webserver figures out who it needs report to..... brings up another page saying who the reports are going to be sent to..... hit the button, and that's them reported.

For Spam messages with links to "Adultfriendfinder.com" or "Wildmatch.com", I've found it also helps to go to the "report spam" link at the bottom of their website and report it directly to the site owners..... that seems to have brought the plague of them on my best friend's nieces YAHOO group to a halt since I was installed as moderator.

Don't click on the links in the mails, especially if the URL is something like:

http://www.idiotspammerwebsite.com/?1234...

that /?123456 (or whatever number) is an affiliate ID link, which basically tells the site the spammer is promoting which of their advertisers they have to pay for getting a mug to visit their website.

Instead, investigate the site by visiting by typing the URL into your browser without the affiliate ID link (Before doing this i always crank my ZONEALARM Firewall protection up to full just in case) and see if there's a link there for reporting spam related to their site. Though obviously give it a miss if it's promoting something less than legal, just in case the FBI are monitoring the site or something..... with them ones just stick with reporting it via spamcop + for phishing scams involving banks or PayPal, report it to them.

Reply:Yahoo is still having some problems at the moment. Suggested cures range from Update Adobe Flash Player and Javascript to clear IE7 cache, cookies, and browsing history. Different things seem to work for different people. It's causing attachments to not show, 999 errors where it won't let you do a particular action and some people cannot send recieve delete or move mail. It's not just Vista either it's happening to some of us on XP. Reply:The ones you are missing, are all the senders from the same domain\isp? Example: I am a member of Bookcrossing.com and my home account NEVER receives any emails from that domain\address. Ends up MY ISP took them as a spammer and blocked all emails that came from that domain (bookcrossing.com). I've had to redirect that account to an alternate address.

Try this, open a web email account and ask those folks to email you at the new address. If you receive the messages, your ISP (home or the office) is blocking thier domain\address.

I am only sending them out to family (we aren't that close anyway.. they live an hour away and I dont' fit in with them anyway). And 1 friend from out of town. So I was going to email soem pictures and make a really cute backgroudn and border. That way everyone can have their own pictures of the baby. They will all come and see him anyway within a few days and I will call some of the family and my friends on the phone anyway. The more distant family (aunts and grandparents) will find out from my parents immediately anyway. The email announcement is more me sharing my excitement and showing off pictures.. and so my grandparents and aunts can hear from me in person (I am not calling the whole family one by one when they dont' hardly talk to me anyway).

There already are laws protecting people from spam. Advertisers are required to provide a link in the email to unsubscribe or "opt-out" from their emails. Its usually almost impossible to find, however, and it takes about a month for them to stop sending you emails.

There isnt any software capable of that. It would have to be done via scripting within the message header and that would be dependent on the mail system. Unless everyone used the same mail backend, and they don't, it isn't possible.

When you hit forward, you can highlight and delete all the names. Another good idea is, if you are sending the e-mail out to more than one person, use the "bcc" option when you select who you are sending it to. That way, all the e-mail addresses aren't being spread all over.

On Yahoo, it is 100 at a time. Create groups/categories.

CREATE A CATEGORY:

1. Click the Contacts tab to open your Yahoo Address Book.

2. Check the boxes next to the names you want in a group.

3. Go to the top of the page and click the down arrow next to the "Add to Category" button.

4. Enter a title for the category in the box that opens in the upper left.

When you wish to send an email to a category:

1. After you click on Compose or Forward to open the Compose Page, click on TO and your address book will open on top of the page you are in.

2. Look above the list and click on the little blue Categories link to open your list of Categories. Check the boxes next to the categories you wish to Send or Forward to.

3. To protect your friends privacy, enter the names you wish to hide in the Bcc field, but you will need to have at least one name in the To field.

4. Go to the top of the list and click on "Insert Checked Contacts."

The address book will close and the names you selected will be in the fields you selected.

Most people don't volunteer for spam, so you'll be hard pressed to find anything like that. What you could potentially do is have Google ads help you out with their many features. Reply:It's not Google, it's your browser. If you have Firefox, just go to Tools%26gt;Options%26gt; and go to the Privacy tab. It's the second check box from the top called "Remember what I enter in forms and the Search Box." Make sure that's unchecked. Also, it's basically the same format to change it on IE. To delete your private data (history) go to Tools%26gt;Clear Private Data and then click Clear Private Data Now. Done. Hope this helps!

I'm sure all of us have recieved emails from other countries (such as: The UK,Nigeria,and England) telling us we've won something,or they need our help in obtaining "Funds/Money from some dead relative. Your next best option is to have these updates also added to an RSS feed. If your site isn't very custom, you might want to look into http://www.wordpress.com or something similar as they're made for such things.

Another option would be to either custom-code a solution where a visitor signs up for notices, it stores their info in a database, and then you either have an hourly cron script check the page's file date and send updates if it's a new update OR manually run a small php script that grabs the emails from the database and emails people.

And soon enough you get all kinds of junk mail both in your mailbox and e-mail, and phone calls. It is a scam, if you want further information on their MO search for "Nigerian Scam" in the Internet, it is a US government site as too many people have truly gotten scammed by these people.

Don't answer them, just delete the email once you report it to the mentioned FBI site. Don't worry it is anonymous.

I want to add some people as contacts, but they request that I email them first. Why do they do that? And what can I say in the email without sounding too awkward?

Some people have been the victim of Trolls, so they request that you ask them before you add them to assure them that you are not a troll.

Just say something like "Hey, I like your answers. Would you mind if I added you to my contact list?"

try messaging them saying you read some of their answers,and you like what they put forward,and would love to be friends with them,or tell them that your opinions on XYZ issue match or whatever,
